The Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) has launched a programme aimed at identifying and developing the next generation of adult social care leaders.
The Springboard leadership development programme, in association with Tunstall Healthcare, is a modular programme designed for adult principal social workers.
Springboard, which will run from May to September, will support participants in developing their impact and influence, and full leadership potential.
The programme will offer blended learning, online coaching, group webinars, and a range of assignments to support participants in building their leadership skills and influence.
“In 2019, we opened our membership to include Principal Social Workers, in recognition of the invaluable work they do locally and nationally to influence better care outcomes for all of us,” said ADASS equality, diversity and inclusion trustee lead Cath Roff.
“We hope that this programme will also help tackle the lack of diversity within the sector, fostering the professional development of colleagues from under-represented communities, and support them in becoming those leaders who will shape the future of adult social care,” she added.
The programme is open to all adult principal social workers who are ADASS members and have at least two years of experience in the role. Twelve successful candidates across England’s nine regions will be selected.
Tunstall Healthcare UK and Ireland managing director Gavin Bashar (pictured) added: “We are delighted to be supporting this programme, which will help to develop the next generation of care leaders and innovators.
“As the social care landscape evolves, during and post-Covid, it is vital that we support progression in achieving the best possible outcomes for local communities and individuals.
“Effective change relies on leadership, and we are committed to working with our partners to invest in the future of our care system, and those who will be instrumental to its evolution.”
