The Grand Care Home in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire has celebrated a decade of care.
Opened on in 2015 by Kenneth Clarke MP – now Baron Clarke of Nottingham – The Grand, part of Lovett Care, marked its ten year anniversary with a party for residents, family and friends, and a visit from the Mayor of Rushcliffe, Councillor Andy Brown.
Along with the Mayoress, the Mayor enjoyed a tour of the 82-bed home, meeting residents and team members. To complete the celebrations, the team at The Grand will welcome Lord Kenneth Clarke back to the care home for afternoon tea with residents later this month.
Councillor Andy Brown said: “I am delighted to be here today to help celebrate this milestone. Over the last decade The Grand has cared for a great many local people, delivering wonderful levels of care in these beautiful surroundings.
“It is testament to the exceptional environment created 10 years ago that many local people have been able to stay in the heart of the community that they love while being expertly cared for here at The Grand. It’s been a privilege for us to join you today and I wish you many more years of success in the future.”
Home manager Tracy Johnston said: “It’s absolutely wonderful to have the Mayor and Mayoress with us today to celebrate our 10 year milestone, also to welcome Kenneth Clarke back very soon. The Grand is more than just a care home, it is a warm, thriving and well established community filled with joy and laughter. We’re like a large family, with our care team working hard to ensure residents feel safe and happy and are able to live their lives to the fullest.”
