Muller Property Group has announced the exchange of contracts and planning submission for a new care home development in Peterborough.
Located at the site of the former Cherry Tree Pub in Woodston, the proposed development – to be constructed by Wynbrook in partnership with Synergy Care Developments and operated by Acacia Care – will deliver a modern, high-quality care facility designed to meet the growing demand for elderly care in the region.
The plans outline an 80-bed residential care home arranged over two to four storeys. The scheme includes the conversion and integration of the derelict, locally listed Cherry Tree public house into the design, along with improved access and landscaping.
The development aims to bring beneficial re-use to a disused urban brownfield site, offering a thoughtfully designed environment that enhances the local area.
Healthcare property consultants Knight Frank marketed the site on behalf of Muller. Mandip Bhogal, partner, healthcare at Knight Frank, said: “We are pleased to have marketed this prominently positioned care home development site for Muller. Development projects such as this provide much-needed modern and purpose-built care facilities to the local markets. This development will provide a high quality care home while creating jobs for the local community.”
