Morrison Community Care Group and CCG (Scotland) will develop a new 50-bed care home in East Renfrewshire, Scotland.
Greenbank Care Home in Clarkston will offer 24/7 residential, nursing, and dementia care, as well as amenities including en suite bedrooms, dining areas, a hair salon, and cinema. The care home will also have a specially designed layout to mitigate the spread of viruses and effects of any future pandemics.
The project will also include the redevelopment of Greenbank Parish Church, with its existing community facilities extended and enhanced while preserving the original church building.
Morrison Community Care Group’s manging director Paul Sokhi, said: “It’s been a long process for everyone involved, but the result is ultimately a positive one for the church and the Clarkston community. Not only are we addressing localised demand for modern, residential care accommodation and alleviating pressure on our NHS; we are also helping to stimulate employment with the creation of up to 100 jobs.
“Furthermore, giving the church the means to invest and upgrade their facilities will ensure it will continue to serve its congregation and the wider community for many years to come.”
