Luxury care home developer and operator Hamberley Care Homes has opened Alston House in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
Alston House retains period features originating from the building’s former life as a police station which was built in the 1920s. Development was funded by leading London-based investor Rynda Healthcare.
The new luxury home comprises 80 bedrooms, a cinema, café and bar, family room, a hair and beauty salon, and landscaped gardens. Alston House also features four apartments at ground floor and first floor level, allowing couples to stay together while still providing care to one or both residents.
Built by the Highwood construction company, Alston House also uses enhanced infection control features, including bespoke COVID-secure visitation suites, in-built thermal imaging technology in the entrance lobbies, and a ventilation system that replaces the air in public spaces four times per hour.
