Exemplar Health Care is celebrating the opening of its brand-new care home Laurel Place in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
Laurel Place supports adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities, and physical disabilities, providing long-term community care for adults who would otherwise have a pro-longed stay in hospital or other inappropriate setting.
The home has 32 bedrooms and six single occupancy apartments, each with an en suite, split across three units. Laurel Place also features communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, sensory bathrooms, a therapy room, a beauty salon, and a visitor's suite.
Luke Skelton, home manager at Laurel Place, said: “I am overjoyed to be opening this new home for the benefit of the local community and to be trusted with upholding Exemplar Health Care's stellar reputation. Our hardworking team is devoted to fostering an atmosphere that is welcoming, inclusive, and focused on improving each and every day for the individuals we assist.”
Lindsay Holcroft, commissioning manager at Exemplar Health Care, said: “Our newest home is a testament to our dedication to offering superior nursing care to adults with complex needs. I'm confident that Luke and his team will make a significant and long-lasting difference to the lives of those we support here. The home will make it possible for people from the region who require complex care to live and receive complex nursing care closer to their friends and family.”
