Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court in Wokingham has been recognised with an EMBRACE Dementia Accreditation, awarded by RMBI Care Co.
The Berkshire home offers dementia care for residents with nursing needs that have a diagnosis of dementia. Its dedicated team focuses on understanding each resident’s personal history and preferences to build trust and plan meaningful activities. This approach enhances residents' quality of life and provides reassurance to their loved ones.
The Dementia Accreditation was created by Anne Child, RMBI Care Co.’s pharmacy and dementia specialist lead, with the aim of raising and maintaining high standards of dementia care using a suite of dementia modules to support care staff. Some of the modules have been externally accredited by the CPD Certification Service.
Abigail Cranston, home manager at Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court, said: “We are so proud to have met the benchmark for this accreditation, and are so grateful for all the support from our team, families and volunteers, who have enabled us to provide individualised care from a holistic perspective. This accreditation has encouraged us to continue enhancing our residents' wellbeing and the culture of our home.”
Russell Evans, regional operations manager for the South Region at RMBI Care Co. commented: “Caring for people living with dementia requires more than just skill; it takes patience, empathy and a deep understanding of each individual. Thanks to the commitment of our dementia specialist team and all the home’s staff, no resident is ever just a name on a care plan, but a person with a story, a past and a future filled with meaningful moments.”
