Meallmore has cut the ribbon on its Greenan Manor care home on the outskirts of Ayr in south-west Scotland.
Member of the Scottish Parliament Siobhian Brown officially opened the facility consisting of 52 ensuite rooms.
Brown (pictured, centre-right) joined residents, staff and guests for the celebrations and unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the official opening of the care home.
A number of activities were held throughout the day, including a string trio, a performance from a local magician, and plenty of canapés and drinks.
The care home opened to residents in January 2021. With changes to Covid-19 restrictions, the home was able to safely celebrate its belated opening ceremony.
“2021 has been a challenging year for everyone. We opened our doors back in January but we were unable to mark the occasion due to government lockdown restrictions. Fast-forward nearly a year later and we are incredibly grateful to have celebrated our belated opening,” said Greenan Manor home manager Elaine Hughes (pictured, left).
Greenan Manor is located in Doonfoot and has coastal views across Ayr Bay. To take advantage of the views, the building features patio doors, large windows and outside terraces.
Ground floor bedrooms offer private patio access out to the attractive landscaped gardens, and private balconies can be enjoyed from some of the first floor bedrooms.
Its seaside location has also been reflected in the interior design of some of the communal rooms, helping to bring the outdoors in. Other facilities include cinema room, and hair and beauty salon.
