Cumnor Hill House in Oxford has celebrated the opening of its new champagne bar.
The home – part of the Berkley Care Group – worked with designers from Gill Jackson Healthcare Consultants to create a space that combines practicality with a high-quality finish. The design takes advantage of the home’s panoramic windows which makes the views of the home’s grounds a key feature.
The three-month renovation required careful planning to ensure minimal disruption. Builders worked in phases to maintain access to the main entrance, allowing residents, visitors, and essential services to move freely. Measures were also taken to reduce noise and dust while ensuring the home remained fully operational.
The new champagne bar includes a two-way fireplace, bespoke lighting, and multiple functional zones including a bar, snug, visitors’ area, and bistro. Each element was designed to serve the varied needs of residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining a luxurious feel.
Sherrie Hume, general manager of Cumnor Hill House, said. “The champagne bar has been designed with a clear focus on usability and luxury. It’s a space that residents, their families, and our team can all enjoy. This new space has quickly become a central hub for residents as it offers a comfortable environment for socialising and relaxation.”
Berkley Care Group CEO Laura Perry said: “The bar was designed to be both stylish and versatile, making it a valuable addition to Cumnor’s facilities. We wanted this renovation to reflect Berkley’s commitment to helping residents live well, while striking the right balance between functionality and aesthetics.”
