Audley Group has appointed Henry Construction and Zenith Construction to support the restoration and new build phases of its Sunningdale Park retirement village in Berkshire.
The £100m development will consist of 103 one, two and three bedroom apartments and luxury cottages.
Henry Construction has been appointed as the main contractor to deliver the new build properties on the 16.5 acre site.
Zenith Construction will be responsible for overseeing the restoration of the historic buildings at Audley Sunningdale Park, which include Northcote House, the Lodges, the Stables, the Dairy, the Walled Garden and the Gamekeeper’s Lodge.
The centrepiece building, Northcote House, is a Grade II listed neo-Georgian mansion, originally built in 1931 by Sir Hugo Cunliffe-Owen, former president of British American Tobacco.
Once completed, it will be home to the Audley Club with facilities including a library, restaurant and bar, swimming pool and luxury health club.
Audley Sunningdale Park is one of four new Audley Villages funded through a joint venture with the real estate arm of Schroders and Octopus Real Estate.
“We are excited to be moving ahead with the delivery of this location amid a surge in demand. The retirement living housing model continues to prove its worth in keeping people safe, especially at this current uncertain time,” said Audley Group managing director Kevin Shaw.
Homeowners buy their apartment from Audley and own it on a 250-year lease. Care at Audley Sunningdale Park will be delivered by Audley Care, Audley’s CQC-registered care provider.
