The Lodge, part of the Elizabeth Finn portfolio, has received Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Reaccreditation Platinum status for outstanding palliative and end of life care.
The GSF Award, which recognises health and social care providers delivering quality care in the final year of life, was presented at the Gold Standards Framework Conference and Awards ceremony in October.
The GSF Centre provides expert training which, once completed and embedded into practice, means that homes can apply for an Accreditation lasting three years. At the end of the three years, organisations need to apply for Re-Accreditation and those achieving this are awarded Platinum status.
Located close to the centre of Exeter, Devon, The Lodge is an elegant Victorian house standing in an acre of landscaped gardens. The home boasts 58 ensuite bedrooms and offers personal or nursing care on a permanent or short stay basis, as well as offering end of life care.
Deborah Skinner, general manager of The Lodge, said: “The last two years have been an incredibly difficult time for all health and social care providers and taking the time to complete their GSF accreditation is to be commended for any provider. I am very proud of our amazing team who have worked so hard to retain this amazing accolade. Good quality end of life care has never been more important.”
