Boutique Care Homes has celebrated the topping out of Martello Manor, its new purpose-built care home in Hythe.
The ceremony marked the completion of the roof and brought together civic leaders, community partners, and project stakeholders. The Town Mayor of Hythe, councillor Stephen Bailey, laid the first of three ceremonial tiles. He was joined by Dudley Shipton, chairman emeritus of the Hythe Dementia Forum, and Tracy West, current chair, both of whom also laid tiles during the ceremony.
When completed in mid-2026, the 66-bed Martello Manor – which is being built by BJF Group – will offer residential, dementia, and short-stay care.
Dudley Shipton said: “The Hythe Dementia Awareness Forum are pleased to be involved in the development of Martello Manor and are inspired by the decision of Boutique Care Homes to be committed to being involved with the local living community.”
Martyn Murphy, operations director at Boutique Care Homes, commented: “This milestone marks more than the progress of a building, it represents the beginning of meaningful connections. Martello Manor is being created as a place of comfort, dignity, and true community, and we’re incredibly grateful to those who joined us to celebrate its future.”
Development director Tom Duck added; “From the earliest stages, Martello Manor has been shaped by collaboration. Today’s ceremony shows just how deeply rooted this home already is in the Hythe community. We're excited to see it grow into a place where people live well, feel valued, and belong.”
