The Outstanding Society (OS) has launched a free app to share and celebrate best practice in the social care sector.
Developed by James Rycroft, a board member of The Outstanding Society and MD at specialist dementia care provider Vida Healthcare, The OS App is available to anyone wanting to learn more about the nursing and career opportunities that are available within social care, and to share lessons that can help everyone continue to improve.
The Outstanding Society, founded in 2015, was established to create a collaborative society that shares best practice and debates how service providers can best adapt in order to deliver outstanding care. Since 2021, The OS has been operating as a Community Interest Company, providing a free platform for everyone to share, celebrate, and learn more about the opportunities within the sector.
James Rycroft said: “I launched the original version of the app in 2020 to keep families, staff, and residents at Vida’s three care homes connected during the pandemic. The app has proven to be a significant success, raising the morale of everyone and providing a greater feeling of connectivity and reassurance. After speaking with my fellow board members of The OS we felt that the app would work really well as a free resource for anyone in social care to share best practice, drive positivity, and encourage people to work in the sector.”
Zoe Fry, executive director at The Outstanding Society, added: “The Directors of the Outstanding Society are delighted to announce the release of The Outstanding Society App (OS). We are looking forward to sharing the app and the impact that it will have on enabling care providers to achieve their Outstanding ratings and attracting new talent to the sector.”
