Christie & Co has negotiated the leasehold sale of Maryfield Convent Care Home in Hook, Hampshire, to Pinnacle Care Homes.
The leasehold to Maryfield Convent Care Home was sold for an undisclosed price. The home, which was closed as a care business in August 2021, comprises 18 single bedrooms and 4 flats organised over three floors. The property was built in the late 1970s and until its closure had been operated by the Dominican Sisters of Malta, who live in the convent next door.
Pinnacle plans to refurbish the building and reopen it as a care home.
Speaking on behalf of the Dominican Sisters of Malta, Sister Mary Anne said: “We were very sad to have had to close the business in 2021 but are delighted to have leased the property to Pinnacle Care Homes Ltd and look forward to working with them to re-establish a care home in the building. This is going to be of great benefit to the local community who we have served for a good number of years.”
Mr Sujith Nair, director of Pinnacle Care Homes, commented: “Maryfield Care Home is a lovely property in a beautiful setting, and we are so pleased to be taking over the lease of the property. This will be our second care home and we are excited about rebuilding the business and working with everyone to create a caring and supportive environment for our future residents and staff.”
