Plans for a 70-bed care home to be operated by Simply UK have been lodged with Shrewsbury Council.
The proposed scheme will provide fully ensuite accommodation with communal facilities including a hairdresser, cinema, common lounges, lobby/bar area, games room, quiet rooms, assisted bathrooms.
Full-time on-site nursing care will be provided.
The site at Sandfield is located approximately two miles southwest of Shrewsbury town centre.
The developer, Muller Property Group Developers, said the 4,340 square metres plot identified for the care home is easily capable of accommodating the quantum of development that is proposed, incorporating large landscape buffers, gardens, and retaining many mature trees.
In a related development, Urban Village has filed plans with Shrewsbury Council for a 70-bed care home in Oswestry.
The scheme, which also comprises 12 assisted living units, will offer a range of facilities for the residents including hairdressing salon, cinema, various lounges and quiet room.
