Masterclass to offer career-boosting opportunity in care consultancy

Social care professionals thinking about a career change are being invited to find out if care consultancy could be a good fit.

An intensive, two-day training conference developed by care sector specialists, Fulcrum Care and Social Care Consultants, will take place on 13-14 April at Holiday Inn Birmingham.

Care Consultant Masterclass has been created to give attendees access to the skills needed to transfer their knowledge and experience into supporting care homes across the UK and become a professional consultant.

Led by two industry experts – Tony Thiru, director of Fulcrum Care, and Tim Dallinger, director of Social Care Consultants – the workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of care consultancy, as well as the opportunity to begin working with the partnership companies.

The event, which includes overnight accommodation and a networking dinner, covers a range of key topics essential for any prospective care consultant, such as:

•             Setting and improving personal outcomes

•             The basics of being a good care consultant

•             Business essentials (insurance, copyright, equipment and conduct)

•             Conducting mock inspections and service audits

•             Supporting care providers with regulator action

•             Understanding and identifying the different levels of service pricing

•             Marketing yourself

•             Dealing with diary anxiety

•             Networking with likeminded professionals in the care sector

•             An open forum Q&A session with leading social care consultants

All attendees will be given post-course support, advice and the chance to develop their career alongside leading care experts.

“A lot of health and care professionals are interested in becoming a care consultant but don’t know where to start, what training they need, or how to develop that experience into a successful career,” said Thiru.

“The masterclass has been designed to give people the launchpad they need to enter the care sector as a consultant, along with the ongoing support and opportunities to help them grow alongside other leading care experts,” he added.

Dallinger said: “Having the proper training and experience can make all of the difference in becoming a successful care consultant.”

“This two-day workshop is the culmination of all the expert tips and knowledge that Tony and I use in our own work every day, to give anyone interested in starting a new career in the sector the best opportunity to grow.”
