Excelcare has been announced as the number one ranked care provider for older people including dementia based on Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings by Care Markets UK.
A report by market intelligence outfit LaingBuisson that ranked Good or Outstanding ratings awarded by the CQC during their inspections found Excelcare achieved these ratings in 94 per cent of its 32 homes.
Excelcare said the findings were a result of its vision to improve CQC ratings across the group.
“These improvements have included changes to the environment in which care is delivered, making them more attractive and engaging for the people who live in Excelcare homes,” a spokesman said.
“Team members from every level have been committed to this vision, from housekeeping and domestic teams to carers and leaders, with support from central teams,” he added.
There has also been a commitment to improving the catering and hospitality of the people they care for, with many renovations to care suites and better technology being introduced to each of their homes.
Excelcare chief operating officer Sam Manning said: “I am so proud of the Excelcare family for their collective daily efforts and commitment to improving the care they provide.
“Especially after the many challenges the health and social care sector has experienced over the last 18 months, seeing Excelcare achieve better CQC ratings and be recognised as a top provider is a momentous and exciting milestone in our journey as a provider.”
