Borough Care has cut the ribbon on its new £10m Hen Cloud House care home in Leek, Staffordshire.
Hen Cloud House is designed to have small ‘households’ to offer residents a true home-from-home experience and to support residents living with dementia.
Each ‘household’ has its own dining room and living areas, set around an open-plan café and lounge.
The spacious rooms have high-quality furnishings and décor and include full wet-room facilities.
The home also has its own hair and beauty salon and a Hollywood-themed cinema, as well as landscaped gardens.
Located on the site of the former Eaton House on Buxton Road, the £10m home is operated by Borough Care, a not-for-profit care provider that invests 100 per cent of its income back into its services, providing diverse activities and individual care for residents.
“It’s been incredible to see our first home in Staffordshire take shape and for residents to move in and make Hen Cloud House their new home,” said Borough Care chairwoman Isla Wilson.
“The facilities are of the highest standard, with added extras such as the cinema, but what really makes it special is the spirit of fun and friendship in the home, which is very much part of our ethos at Borough Care,” she added.
“We believe people should have the opportunity to live a full life, regardless of their age or capabilities, and our homes help residents to do that, whether they live here full time or come for respite.”
