Quality Compliance Systems (QCS) has teamed up with UK luxury care home group Cinnamon Care Collection to create a food safety manual for care home caterers.
The duo has spent a year working on the new manual that aims to be a practical, user-friendly toolkit that also provides care home catering staff with a set of easy-to-use compliance tools to record, log and evidence industry guidance and best practice.
The food safety manual contains 86 documents divided into six distinct categories which will be regularly updated by QCS.
The manual breaks down each of the processes and provides logical guidance to catering teams, helping to ensure residents receive food prepared to exacting standards for care home residents.
“We think that the manual content, which was provided by the Cinnamon Care Collection team, gives care home caterers all the tools they need to excel in kitchen safety and food hygiene,” said QCS customer and policy lead Leah Cooke (pictured).
“We look forward to making the toolkit universally available so that every care provider in the UK can benefit from it,” she added.
Cinnamon Care Collection regional support service manager Rob Burcher added: “While it meets FSA regulations and CQC requirements, what really makes it stand out from other manuals is that it is a real-world document, written in accessible language, which every member of the catering team in a care home can relate to.
