Care England has published wide-ranging advice for its social care provider membership concerning operational issues arising from the coronavirus outbreak.
The largest representative body for independent providers of adult social care said its members were “desperate” for answers to queries regarding Covid-19.
“Last week, in the absence of clear guidance, we issued a learning disability focused document and we are now in a position to respond to all manner of other queries with new advice for care providers across the board,” said chief executive Professor Martin Green (pictured).
The guidance published in the members’ section of the Care England website contains a list of questions and concerns that have been posed to the representative body.
The questions cover themes including personal protective equipment, testing, commissioning, the Care Quality Commission, interface with healthcare services, visitors, funding, legislation and digital.
Care England said many of the questions in the document have been posited to the UK government as part of the former’s strategy to ensure the needs of the adult social care sector are heard at this time of crisis.
“We hope that this advice will be useful for providers many of whom are struggling on a day to day basis,” said Green.
“Some clarity may help in the difficult times ahead and rest assured that we at Care England are doing all that we can to represent our members at the national level ensuring that they are listened to," he added.
