Alessandro Caruso Architecture & Interiors has been awarded its third World Design Award for the design of Porritt Care Village in Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester.
One of the world’s most esteemed architecture and design honours, the World Design Awards acknowledge exceptional concepts that revolutionise architectural design by incorporating innovative technologies, materials, programs, aesthetics, and spatial arrangements.
The award showcases ACA’s design of Porritt Care Village on behalf of Millennium Care, which highlights ACA's commitment to sustainable, people-centric architecture that enhances community wellbeing.
Porritt Care Village is a state-of-the-art, 52-bed care home designed to provide specialised dementia care and foster intergenerational community engagement. The Y-shaped building layout optimises natural light and ventilation while blending seamlessly with the surrounding Green Belt landscape. The design highlights the use of eco-friendly materials and the focus on creating functional yet aesthetically pleasing spaces that enhance residents' quality of lives.
ACA MD Alessandro Caruso said: “At ACA, our mission is to create happier and healthier environments that enhance quality of life. Having personally witnessed the transformative impact of well-being-focused designs in improving individuals' experiences, I am excited to see our vision come to life.”
