Chatham care home sold as owners retire after 36 years

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the sale of The White House care home in Chatham, Kent.

Established in 1988, The White House offers dementia care for up to 38 residents. Owned by Christos and Lynn Nicolaou for the past 36 years, the business was recently brought to market to allow them to pursue a well-earned retirement.

Following a confidential sales process with John Harrison at Christie & Co, and with funding sourced through Neil Collins at Christie Finance, The White House has been sold to Sibi and Shaina Kumar who already operate a specialist home care company in Kent.

John Harrison, director – care at Christie & Co, said: “I am delighted to have completed the sale of The White House on behalf of Christos and Lynn so that they could retire after successfully running the business since 1988. This is a great acquisition for Sibi and Shaina who I am sure will be able to expand the business further using their considerable experience in the care sector. This sale demonstrates the strong demand we are seeing for care homes in Kent.”

Neil Collins, senior consultant at Christie Finance, commented: “I am really pleased to have secured a funding solution for Sibi and Shaina for their purchase of The White House. We stayed in regular touch and moved through the stages as quickly as possible. I look forward to working with them on their next venture.”
