Exemplar Health Care has celebrated the official opening of Fernwood care home in Knowsley, Merseyside.
The new home is the result of an extensive refurbishment and extension of the former building, Knowsley Manor. Work began in March 2023. Cutting the ribbon was the Mayor of Knowsley, Councillor Eddie Connor.
Fernwood care home boasts 28 bedrooms – each with an en suite wet room – split across two 14-bed communities. The home has communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, therapy and consultation rooms, a visitors’ suite, and an accessible garden.
Lindsay Holcroft, commissioning manager at Exemplar Health Care, said: “We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our state-of-the-art care home in Knowsley following an extensive refurbishment of the building. This new home embodies our commitment to providing exceptional care and support to those living with complex care needs.
“We know this type of service is in high demand for individuals and families in the Knowsley area and our dedicated team is looking forward to working with local commissioners, social workers, and families to make a positive difference to people that need long term nursing care and support.”
