Caerphilly home celebrates Global Intergenerational Week

HC-One Wales’ Abermill Care Home celebrated April’s Global Intergenerational Week with Nant Y Parc Primary School pupils.

The home – located in Abertridwr, near Caerphilly –  opened its doors to children from a local primary school to encourage people from across the generational divide to come together to celebrate Global Intergenerational Week, which ran between 24-30 April.

The celebrations started with children aged seven to ten-years-old and, following this, a younger age group joined in with a host of activities, which united the different generations together.

The events highlighted the importance of sharing life stories between those young and old, emphasising that experiences can be celebrated with each other, no matter how old you are.

Abermill Care Home manager Christine Tipper, said: “It is lovely to see these little relationships developing, heart-warming how kind and thoughtful the children are, looking forward to what progresses."
