For the third year running, Skills for Care is #CelebratingSocialCare this April and encouraging social care organisations to join in.
Skills for Care has produced a selection of assets to support people with joining in with the celebrations, including social media images, suggested social media posts, selfie cards, email banners, and a template blog post.
Messages providers may wish to share on social media could include:
- a thank you to your team or manager for all their hard work
- a shoutout to a colleague for a recent achievement
- a photo of your team or the people you support
- an update of a recent activity or event you’ve run
- a reason why you love working in social care
- a message about why #CelebratingSocialCare is so important
- any other positive news from your organisation
Skills for Care has also created a list of celebratory activities which organisations and individuals can do as part of #CelebratingSocialCare in April. This could include open days, awards, and social events.
Oonagh Smyth, CEO of Skills for Care, said: “We’ve been delighted in previous years with how people working all across social care have engaged with the #CelebratingSocialCare activity. We feel it’s really created a sense of pride and community among people working in social care, and we’ve had so many touching stories shared with us about the great work people are doing.
“This year we’re also excited to be launching this campaign alongside continuing work on developing our Workforce strategy for adult social care which is a really important step forward in supporting the social care sector. We’ll be sharing further updates on how the strategy is progressing during April.”
