Dearnevale care home has scored a perfect 10/10 score on the independent comparison website carehome.co.uk.
The home, located in Grimethorpe in Barnsley and part of Exemplar Health Care, has secured a position in the carehome.co.uk Top 20 care homes list for Yorkshire and Humber.
The home also holds an Outstanding rating from the CQC, with the care regulator’s inspection report highlighting the care team’s high level of knowledge, refined training, and the use of assistive technology to enhance residents' daily living experiences.
Dearnevale is also one of only eight care homes in the UK to hold accreditation from the Huntington's Disease Association.
The home is specifically designed for adults with complex and high acuity needs, including mental ill-health, Motor Neurone Disease, impairments following a severe stroke, and individuals living with tracheostomies, ventilators, and PEG feeding tubes.
Dearnevale’s approach to care focuses on small group living. The home features 40 bedrooms with en-suites split across four 10-bed units, meaning the people supported at the home live in a responsive environment tailored to their individual needs. Dearnevale also boasts communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, a therapy kitchen, a beauty salon, and an accessible garden.
