Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has completed the freehold sale of Alexander House in Bracklesham Bay, West Sussex.
Alexander House, a ‘Good’ rated care home which provides residential and dementia care for up to 23 service users, comprises a single-storey, extended building with an enclosed central courtyard and side and rear gardens.
Christie & Co originally sold the business to Ali Omar in 2017 and was instructed to sell the home once again to allow him to focus on his other care homes. Following a confidential sales process, Alexander House has been purchased by Parkside Lodge Health Care Ltd, which owns three other homes.
Ali Omar, previous owner of Alexander House, said: “We were delighted to purchase this business back in 2017 and have invested money and time to upgrade the home during our ownership. My sister, brother, and I have two other care homes and we made a strategic decision to sell Alexander House to slightly reduce the workload and concentrate on the other homes which are slightly closer to where we live. This is a good business, and we wish the new owners success.”
Mr Asok Nair, director at Parkside Lodge Health Care Ltd, commented: “This is the third care home we have purchased through Christie & Co and feel that there are very good synergies between all three homes. What appealed to us about Alexander House was the accommodation being all ground floor, the homely feel of the property, the location being close to the sea, and the dedicated staff. We look forward to getting to know all residents, their families, and the staff, and building on the previous owners’ good work.”
Charles Phillips, director - healthcare at Christie & Co, said: “We were delighted to be asked to assist Ali and Nadia in this sale, having sold them the business in 2017. I was really pleased with the level of initial interest expressed by our applicants, which shows that there is a good appetite for care homes of this size.”
