Penarth residential care home sold for the first time since 1987

Parkside House Care Home in Penarth, Wales, has been sold following a confidential process managed by specialist business property adviser Christie & Co.

Established in 1987, Parkside House is a reputable, care home offering residential, dementia, and independent care for up to 35 residents. The business occupies a striking Victorian property located in a conservation area set above Penarth Esplanade.

After the founding owners decided to sell in order to retire, Christie & Co managed the sale of Parkside House to Serenity Healthcare Ltd. This is the third home that the Serenity group has bought through Christie & Co, and its first residential dementia home. Parkside House Care Home was sold to Serenity for an undisclosed price.

Oliver McCarthy, associate director of care at Christie & Co, said: “I am really pleased to have sold Parkside House to Serenity Healthcare Ltd – this is a great home that compliments their expanding portfolio in South Wales.

“The transactional care market in the Southwest and Wales was buoyant last year, and we’re seeing this continue in 2023, as buyer appetite remains high for a range of assets across the region.”
