Mayor of Warrington goes out on a Lymm to open care home

The Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Jean Flaherty, has officially opened Statham Manor, a new care home located in Lymm, Cheshire.

Statham Manor will be operated by Altrincham-based New Care, part of the McGoff Group, and will provide residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care.

The home features 66 bedrooms, each with a private en suite wet room, plus a selection of communal lounges, reading rooms and dining rooms, spa-assisted bathrooms, a nail bar, and hair salon. The home is expected to create around 100 local jobs as recruitment continues over the next 12 months.

For the opening, Cllr Flaherty and her husband were welcomed by the new management team at Statham Manor - registered manager Farai Hanyane and deputy manager Hannah Sparks - for a guided tour of the home and introductions to the new team before cutting a red ribbon to declare Statham Manor officially open.

Cllr Flaherty said: “We have watched the development of this home and the wider site with interest so I was delighted to be invited to perform the official opening and take an early look at these superb facilities which will serve the people of Lymm. The home is impressive both inside and out, with even the smallest details considered to ensure fabulous care is delivered for residents.”

Farai Hanyane added: “It’s wonderful to finally open this home and welcome our first residents and we are thrilled to have the Mayor join us on opening day.”
