Surrey care home The Burlington has launched an initiative to support local emergency service and healthcare professionals.
Blues & Brews has been launched by family-run Boutique Care Homes to provide emergency service and healthcare workers with a place they can come seven days a week for a break, a hot drink, and to use The Burlington’s facilities and Wi-Fi. Those attending will receive a complimentary limited edition ‘Burlington Coffee Tumbler’ to use on each visit.
The Burlington won Care Home of the Year at the Surrey Care Awards 2022.
The initiative is being spearheaded by admissions manager Kirsty Ford, who said: “We are all too aware of the challenges facing emergency services and healthcare workers and we are delighted to bring Blues & Brews to Shepperton. Seven days a week, anyone working in these sectors is able to come to The Burlington, knowing there is a welcoming and comfortable space to relax, catch up on any work and enjoy homemade refreshments.”
Home manager Emma Dudhee added: “Blues & Brews is just our small way of saying thank you to all those incredible people who serve our community so passionately. As a care home we work closely with many of these services and we are always looking at ways to give back and say thank you. We want the community to know that you have a warm and friendly place which you can go to catch up on some paperwork, take a comfort break or enjoy a cup of coffee.”
