Residents at a Cheshire home have enjoyed various community outings for first time since the pandemic to help boost their mental wellbeing.
Like many care homes, Priesty Fields Care Home in Congleton had put its regular community day trips on hold for the protection of its residents. However, looking to the future, the family-run business has once again timetabled a number of outdoor activities.
Residents enjoyed a trip to the local garden centre where they embraced the fresh air and picked out some plants to add to their own garden at Priesty Fields.
After the success of the group outing to the garden centre, determined to ensure a further collection of enjoyable days out, home management organised a visit to Greater Manchester’s Trafford shopping centre for some festive shopping to keep the residents mentally and physically stimulated, while engaging with the wider community.
Rishi Sodha, care director at Handsale, which owns and runs Priesty Fields, said: “Maintaining the mental wellbeing of our residents is at the core of our values. We want to make sure the residents continue to maintain their lifestyles and meaningful relationships with the community. This is why we will continue to hold community outings and ensure our residents get as much time out socialising and enjoying themselves as possible.”
