Sanders Senior Living’s Chalkwell Grange care home in Leigh-on-Sea, Southend has celebrated its grand opening.
Formerly operated by Larchwood Care, the acquisition of the home by Sanders Senior Living has seen Chalkwell Grange undergoing extensive refurbishment. The home features 47 en suite bedrooms, a cinema, hairdressing salon, and bistro café. Chalkwell Grange is the fifth residential care home in the Sanders Senior Living portfolio.
Mayor Councillor Kevin Robinson, Anna Firth MP, local residents, and family members enjoyed a festive-themed grand opening event, which was complete with canapes and prosecco, a Christmas grotto, festive stalls, live entertainment, and even a dog competition. Chalkwell Grange officially opened its doors at the beginning of November and has already welcomed its first residents.
Vikki Richardson, home manager at Chalkwell Grange, said: "It was such a pleasure to welcome members of the local community to our lovely home for the grand opening. We invite the local community to be part of the Chalkwell Grange difference. We run clubs and activity groups, and welcome those who would wish to join us for these - it's incredibly important for our residents to feel part of our community; a community where friendships flourish and thrive."
