Care provider Loveday & Co has partnered with independent arts charity Opera Holland Park to host monthly opera teas for Loveday residents.
Opera Holland Park produces critically acclaimed operas in the Holland Park area of London. The charity serves the community of Kensington and Chelsea in care homes, hospices, shelters, and schools, taking music to those for whom a traditional theatre setting is inaccessible.
The monthly Opera Afternoon Teas will see artists serenading residents and guests at the Loveday Kensington home while they enjoy an afternoon tea prepared by Loveday's award-winning culinary team.
Louise Blezzard, general manager at Loveday Kensington, said: “We are so excited to be partnering with Opera Holland Park, a wonderful initiative that delivers meaningful experiences to both our members and the community. We understand the huge importance of friendship and social connections and are proud to be launching this initiative as a way of helping to instigate friendship and conversation, particularly for those living with dementia.
“Opera has always been adored by our members and features heavily within our monthly activities programme. It’s a joy to expand this initiative in collaboration with the brilliantly talented Opera Holland Park.”
Alice Bezant, coordinator of inspire education & outreach at Opera Holland Park added: “Crafting creative connections across the community is a fundamental part of our year-round work, providing the opportunity for social connection through shared experience. To further embed this work into the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, where we feel such support year-round, is something incredibly special, and we are delighted to build this new partnership with Loveday & Co.
“This collaboration will enable us to offer a greater variety of outreach to those who would benefit from founding friendships through memory and music, and we cannot wait to get started.”
