Rotherwood Group has purchased a site in Battlefield, Shrewsbury with a view to constructing a purpose-built luxury care home.
The home in Battlefield, a suburb of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, will provide 70 residential and nursing beds and will create over 60 jobs in the local area. Work on the build is due to commence in Spring 2023. The sale was brokered by Christie & Co.
Rotherwood currently operates luxury care homes across Herefordshire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire. The provider owns and operates nearby Roden Hall Care Home, which is five miles from the Battlefield site.
John Fennell, Rotherwood CEO, said: “We are delighted to share this news and look forward to getting started on the creation of this state-of-the-art care home. This will be our eighth home and part of our longer-term commitment to broadening our impact enriching the lives of the older generation. We have exciting plans to further enhance the lives of people living and working in the area.”
