Senior living developer Charterpoint has sold a care home development near Leicester to operator Cinnamon Luxury Care.
With Charterpoint having received planning permission for a 73-bed care home development on the 1.2-acre site in Uppingham Road, Thurnby, Cinnamon will now move forward to construction of the project, after Christie & Co secured the deal.
The scheme envisages care accommodation arranged over three floors, incorporating a cinema room, café, hair and beauty facilities, as well as terraces and landscaped gardens. Visitor car parking will include electric charging points.
The development was designed by specialist care architect Edmund Williams.
Charterpoint MD Giles Nursey said: “This first-class scheme will create an attractive care home for the area, which we identified as having a shortfall in purpose-built care home provision. It will also provide important local job opportunities. As an East Midlands-based senior living developer, Charterpoint is delighted to have sold the scheme to Cinnamon who will now take it forward to the development stage.”
A spokesperson for Cinnamon added: “We are excited about the potential for this latest development at Thurnby and look forward to breaking ground before the end of 2022. The team has really enjoyed working with Charterpoint to acquire this site and look forward to partnering with Charterpoint on future developments.”
