National home buying service Spring has joined with later living directory Autumna in a move aimed at helping people move into care properties.
Thanks to the deal, Autumna will offer Spring’s guaranteed sale service to prospective movers, allowing a ‘a quick, stress-free onwards move’. Spring says that it ‘typically makes offers within 24 hours’ and offers up to 93% of market value for properties.
Debbie Harris, CEO of Autumna, said: “We work closely with thousands of people as they search for retirement living options. Yet, time and time again we have seen them give up their search because of the stress and struggle of trying to sell their property. It is, without question, one of the largest obstacles our clients face. Between Autumna and Spring, we’ll be able to squash that most significant hurdle and enable many more people to enjoy happy and healthy retirements in their new homes. It is a partnership that truly benefits everybody.”
Spring’s CEO, Cormac Henderson, added: “The UK’s later living and care sector plays a vital role both for those needing support but also wider society. However, the uncertainty and burden of selling the family home puts many people off, resulting in countless older residents living in unfit-for purpose accommodation which also has a trickle-down effect on the rest of the property market. Working with Autumna, we will be working to change this, giving people options that provide them the freedom to move on.”
