The Care Home Environment had the pleasure of attending the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards 2022 earlier this month.
Held at the imposing Royal Lancaster Hotel near Hyde Park, London, the highly respected (and much-coveted) awards were back in full swing after a Covid-enforced sabbatical in 2021.
With wins for six different care home owners and over a dozen architect and design companies, no single firm or owner dominated this year’s awards, and perhaps that was as it should be. There was a palpable sense both of relief and celebration in the room as those present enjoyed being amongst friends and colleagues - in the flesh, at last - and a generous spread of winners seemed somehow appropriate given the difficulties faced by the sector over the past couple of years.
The results also reflect just how competitive the care home sector is becoming. As they say – a little competition never hurt anyone – and we can’t wait to see what the various awards winners and nominees come up with for consideration at next year’s awards.
Our Editor Matt Seex was able to introduce himself to numerous movers and shakers in attendance, making the most of the opportunity to get up to speed with the issues and challenges facing the care home sector (whilst, of course, enjoying a splendid lunch).
Congratulations, then, to all the winners – and here’s to doing it all again in 2023!
