Torsion Care takes wraps off plans for York scheme

Care home developer Torsion Care has unveiled plans for a 72-bed scheme in York.

The company has submitted draft plans for the care home, which would be managed by Torsion Care's sister company Burghley Care, to City of York Council.

The proposals for York include ensuite bedrooms, dayrooms, flexible space for activities, lounges and dining areas.

The care home has been designed with a residential look including contemporary gables and detailing.  The building’s massing has also been broken up to reduce visual impact.

“Our draft plans have been sensitively designed to reflect the surrounding area and we are engaging with York City Council to help ensure this proposal meets existing needs” said a spokesperson for Torsion Care.

Torsion Care expects to submit a planning application to the local authority in the coming months.
