Cloverdown has filed plans for a 100-unit care centre in Sutton Valence near Maidstone in Kent.
Paperwork lodged with Maidstone Borough Council revealed a scheme consisting of an 87-bed care home and with a separate block of 13 assisted living apartments.
If approved, Cloverdown House would stretch across 2.2 acres and include a restaurant, spa, gym, library, cinema room, hair salon and EV supercharge points.
The care home has been designed to be able to provide for the full range of care needs for an individual, including complex nursing care and for those living with multiple long-term conditions.
Some of the key ideas incorporated into the new care home designed by Carless + Adams include controlling how visitors and staff enter the home via separate entrances, and providing ample storage space throughout the new home for an appropriate stock of PPE.
Cloverdown House would also include flexible and adaptable spaces which can be separated into ‘social bubbles’ along with ample usable outdoor space.
Communal spaces are located in each wing, with the lounges/dining rooms allowing residents to benefit from the views out through a generously-sized floor to ceiling glazing.
On the upper levels a large balcony would be provided, accessed from the communal space to allow the residents to enjoy a comfortable communal environment in the summer, which also brings the benefits of Vitamin D to residents.
Smaller quieter lounge areas have been designed through each wing to allow those residents with dementia to enjoy a peaceful place to eat and drink.
Dedicated video conference booths in each wing, meanwhile, would allow residents to keep in contact with family.
The development site is in the grounds of Forsham House, which would remain and would keep an area of garden, but would share its existing access with Cloverdown House.
