Signature Senior Lifestyle has been granted planning permission to build a 92-room care home on the site of a former four-star hotel in Enfield, north London.
Enfield Council signed off on plans to the demolish Royal Chace Hotel - closed since March 2020 - and replace it with a three-storey development with adjacent housing complex.
The care home accommodation consists of 34 one-bed care suites, 35 studio flats and 23 dementia studio flats.
Resident facilities are expected to include restaurants, lounges, café, library, cinema, salon, spa bathing, and activity and therapy spaces.
Homebuilder Bellway meanwhile will construct 64 homes – a mix of one- and two-bed flats, and two- and three-bed houses.
Around 40 per cent of the total will be designated as affordable housing, including a mix of shared ownership, London Affordable Rent and London Living Rent homes.
The development was approved by Enfield Council’s planning committee, which praised its contribution to family-sized housing provision.
