HC-One is to build a new luxury unit at its Victoria Manor care home in Edinburgh as part of an £8.5m group-wide refurbishment programme.
The new Saxe Coburg accommodation, which will offer residential and nursing care, will be located within the home’s community and will aim to provide a home-from-home care environment.
The unit's site will have multiple recreational areas, including a bistro, outdoor dining area, hairdressing salon, putting green and a private garden for the home as well as private outdoor seating for residents.
The rest of Victoria Manor care home will undergo an extensive refurbishment programme with each area being thoughtfully designed to support the mind, body and soul.
The refurbishment was paused due to the pandemic, but work began in August and is due to be completed by October this year.
“We’re really excited that our plans are safely underway at Victoria Manor. We look forward to seeing the end result, and when it is safe to do so, welcoming more visitors to see our new look,” said HC-One area director Heather Leighton.
The company’s £8.5m investment will see 23 care homes, including Victoria Manor, benefit from the refurbishment and upgrade programme.
