BRE Group has launched a government-funded website aimed at supporting care home providers with identifying the most effective energy efficiency improvements for their buildings and help them save money on their energy bills.
Commissioned by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the website features an energy efficiency tool offering a bespoke list of appropriate improvements with the associated costs and savings of each.
The tool will also give information on ways to fund and procure these improvements via available grants and incentives, and where to find trusted suppliers and contractors, as well as current energy efficiency standards and regulations.
The energy efficiency tool is based on the same model that generates commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
“Many of these energy efficiency upgrades will also improve your resident’s safety and comfort, for example better lighting could prevent trips and falls and better heating and cooling systems could help regulate residents’ temperatures,” said a BRE spokeswoman.
“Our hope is this website and energy efficiency tool will save you time and help you manage your energy efficiency by having all this information in one place,” she added.
The energy efficiency tool can be found at https://www.bregroup.com/care-home-energy-efficiency.
“All the information you provide will be completely confidential and will not be shared with other organisations without your permission,” said the spokeswoman.
