Centre for Health and Pastoral Care in Thirsk, North Yorkshire will in September host a two-day forum on practical, philosophical and spiritual approaches to aging.
The Making Relational Care Work for Older People forum on 4-5 September at Thirsk Town Hall will be hosted by Jenny Kartupelis MBE (pictured), author of the book with the same title.
Kartupelis will give a keynote addressed entitled ‘What is relational care? Supportive environments for mind, body and spirit’.
Further keynote speakers include Professor Marian Barnes, who will explore the key issues for care ethics and older people, and Professor John Swinton on the philosophy of ageing and implications for care.
Other confirmed speakers include Hallmark Care Homes Foundation chief executive Stephen Burke and Age Tech Accelerator UK lead Dr. Lorraine Morley.
The fee for the event is £95, which includes refreshments and finger buffet on both days. There is an optional Friday evening discussion with drinks at 7.30pm.
