Exemplar Health Care has opened a £5m care home for adults with complex needs in Bradford.
The Wykewood care home will support 40 adults across four ten-bed units that will specialise in supporting adults with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities, brain injuries, spinal injuries, Huntington’s disease and complex dementia. The home will also include a male-only unit.
Each bedroom comes equipped with an ensuite wet room, while the complex will provide communal dining and living spaces as well as cafe, therapy room, sensory room, salon and accessible garden.
“I’m thrilled to have opened Exemplar Health Care’s first home in Bradford. This community-based home will provide person-centered care and rehabilitation that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills, and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible,” said commissioning home director Sharon Burton.
“It is extremely rewarding to be able to support 40 local people with complex health needs, and to provide over 150 stable and local jobs for those wanting to progress their careers,” she added.
