Care home interior design consultant Jacqui Smith is to speak at the inaugural Virtual Interiors Event online conference next month.
Smith, managing director of Sussex-based consultancy HomeSmiths, will give a thought leadership session titled Healthcare Insider: Designing for Sensory & Cognitive Decline.
Smith (pictured) is an accredited member of the Society of British & International Interior Design and sits on the SBID Healthcare Design Council.
The Virtual Interiors Event that takes place on 24-25 February will feature a further 31 sessions.
The sessions will cover a broad range of topics including New Approaches In The ‘Work From Anywhere’ Era, and Designing for Happiness: How Environments Can Improve Our Mental Wellbeing.
The Virtual Interiors Event will also feature four live rooms with 24 panellists and titles including Putting people first: The evolving challenges, and What Did 2020 Teach Us About The Role Of Technology In Commercial Interiors?
Thought leadership will form a key part of the agenda, with speakers such as HOK’s director of
workplace Kay Sargent discussing neurodiversity and social equity, TEDx speaker Ben Channon on designing for happiness and Element 4’s Georgia Elliott Smith.
Also speaking will be workplace psychology expert Craig Knight, Spacelab director Rosie Haslem and FX Designer of the Year 2017 Anna Hart.
Sponsored by Chaucer Logistics, CMD and Orangebox, the event features virtual exhibition stands from established manufacturers such as Vitra, KI Europe, Camira and Brunner alongside smaller firms such as faux leather producer Sileather UK.
The Virtual Interiors Event uses an online platform that promotes networking and can host one to one video calls, virtual exhibition stands and instant messaging within the event. Attendance is free, with a paid-for 30-day on demand ticket also available.
Those who register for tickets before 1 February will be entered into a draw to win a free cocktail experience, courtesy of The Little Gin Company.
Launched last year, The Virtual Interiors Event is the brainchild of Sally Rice and Beth Harrison, who have 35 years of combined experience.
“I’m thrilled to be working with another female-led business and I’m glad we are still able to provide the fun element of our industry’s events despite the latest coronavirus restrictions,” said Harrison.
