Castleoak sows acorn for care home near Cardiff

Castleoak Care Developments has lodged plans with Vale of Glamorgan Council to build a 70-bed care home near Cardiff in South Wales.

The local developer has agreed to purchase the application site at Glenburnie in the village of Wenvoe located between Cardiff and Barry, subject to planning permission.

The Glenburnie care home plans consist of a three-storey development with library, private dining room, activity rooms, hairdressers, gym, cinema and bar.

Castleoak expects the care home to create 69 full-time equivalent jobs, or in the region of 95 jobs overall.

Castleoak has developed several care homes in Wales, including Heol Don in Cardiff operated by Bupa and Ty Aberdafen in Llanelli operated by Canolfan BIRT Cymru.

The Cardiff outfit also developed Bryn Ivor Lodge in Castleton (pictured), operated by Barchester Healthcare.
