Hamberley Care Homes has opened a state-of-the-art property with bespoke Covid-19 infection control features in Bedfordshire.
The 69-bed Richmond Manor care home in Ampthill features a Covid-secure visitation suite and in-built thermal imaging technology in the entrance lobby to ensure all visitors to the home, including staff, have their temperature taken on a daily basis.
The Bedfordshire property also includes a ventilation system to ensure air in public spaces is fully replaced four times an hour.
The home also has hand washing and hand sanitising stations throughout for staff, residents and visitors.
The care home also features luxury en-suite bedrooms, a cinema, café, bar, hair salon, beauty salon with nail bar, lounges and landscaped gardens.
Richmond Manor was sold last week by Hamberley Care Homes parent company Patron Capital to healthcare REIT Aedifica.
The Belgian outfit paid £16.5m in a sale-and-leaseback deal that saw Hamberley Care Homes enter into a 25-year lease agreement for the building.
“The sale demonstrates the strength of our track record in delivering outstanding care home environments that are not only luxurious in design but also safe from an infection control perspective,” said Hamberley director Daniel Kay.
“Care homes like Richmond Manor set a new standard for Covid-secure settings, for which there is a rapidly growing demand,” he added.
Richmond Manor is the eleventh Hamberley Care Homes property to open.
In addition to Richmond Manor the group has a development pipeline of sites in Enfield, Dorking, West Byfleet, Bedford, Hailsham, Southampton, Eastleigh, Basingstoke, Brampton, Bristol, Keynsham, Edwalton and Cofton Hackett.
The group is also actively acquiring land and existing operating businesses and has over £180m of equity capital allocated for healthcare investment.
