Berkley Care has won the right to build a 95-bed care home in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire.
Stratford-on-Avon District Council’s planning committee voted unanimously to approve a four-story facility on a two-acre site.
The approval is on condition Berkley Care provides around £60,000 to the South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust and South Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group CCG to mitigate any impact on local healthcare infrastructure.
The Warwick developer’s care home will consist of a mix of room types with a 70/20/10 ratio for standard, premium and suites.
Floorspace of between 5000 and 6000 square metres will house the 95 bedrooms each equipped with ensuite wetroom.
Communal facilities will include lounges, dining rooms, bistro, bar, cinema room, gym and hair salon.
The care home located 200 metres north of Stratford-upon-Avon train station will also feature communal gardens that include activity spaces and areas with areas with sensory plants.
