A London care home has used lockdown to recreate classic album covers with eye-catching photographs of residents.
Residents of Sydmar Lodge in Edgware in North London posed for a series of snaps by activities co-ordinator Robert Speker.
Albums covered include ‘Aladdin Sane’ by David Bowie, ‘Bad’ by Michael Jackson, ‘Enema of the State’ by Blink-182, ‘Born in the USA’ by Bruce Springsteen, ‘True Blue’ by Madonna (pictured) and others.
“Residents have been in lockdown for four months and it’s been my job and privilege to keep them entertained during the Covid crisis with no outside entertainers or family,” said Speker.
“As this situation is on-going it could be months before the situation changes for them and the need to keep them happy entertained and full of spirit has never been more crucial,” he added.
Speker has started a fundraising page to raise money for the activities.
“Elderly people will remain in lockdown for a long time, and I want to make their time as happy and full of enjoyment and interest as possible,” he said.
