Inspired Villages has been granted planning permission to build a £100m retirement village on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells in Kent.
Wealden District Council approved plans submitted by Legal & General’s later living business for a 146-unit development on land at Little Mount Farm (pictured) in Frant.
Inspired Villages will progress a reserved matters application later this year with work expected to commence on site in mid-2021.
The site is expected to create 88 jobs per year during construction and up to 65 operational jobs once complete.
Facilities planned for the retirement village include a restaurant, café, library, cinema room and wellness centre comprising a fitness studio, gym and swimming pool.
Inspired Villages said the 9.5-acre site located two miles from the centre of Tunbridge Wells benefits from a landscaped setting with mature trees and a lake.
“This site in Tunbridge Wells is an important addition to our portfolio due to the significantly growing demand for age appropriate housing in the local area,” said Inspired Villages development director Neal Dale.
